Dr. Michelle Cowley

Michelle Cowley, V.M.D. (formerly Hawks) is the owner/veterinarian at Animal Crackers Veterinary Clinic.  Dr. Cowley is a 1995 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.  She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware.

In March of 2001, Dr. Cowley purchased the practice, which was previoused called Animal Crackers Pet Center.

Dr. Cowley has worked hard to make the practice one that reflected their vision of what a veterinary clinic should be - friendly, compassionate, trustworthy, and most importantly, practicing high quality medicine.

When Dr. Cowley is not at the clinic, she spends her time with her family.  She has four children - Joe, Cassandra, Samantha and Sage.  Like their mom, Joe, Cassandra and Samantha all have a great love of animals.  Sage joined the family in 2010.  The family has 2 dogs.  Sparkles, is a pug/beagle/jack russel terrier mix.  The newest addition is Reeses, a stray Staffordshire mix that was dropped off at the clinic.  Finally there is Buttercup, a loving cat adopted through Stray Cat Blues.

Kelly Hallman, CVT:

After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Education, I spent my days as a preschool teacher.  That is, until my dog was hit by a car and my helplessness spurred me to become a veterinary technician.  After graduating from Harcum College with an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology, I began my career as a Certified Veterinary Technician.  I spent the first four and a half years working in emergency and critical care medicine at both the university level and private practice.  My last five years have been spent in general practice, fulfilling both technician and management duties.  Always a sucker for warm fur, I share my home with a black lab mix named Samantha, an English Bulldog named Mack, and two orange tabbies named Maurice and Squirtle.

Jessica Maylen, CVT

I can not remember a time in my life when I wasn't surrounded by animals.  I grew up with so many pets, including fish, a mouse, a rat, hamsters, a guinea pig, a rabbit, a snake, several cats and four dogs.  I also rode and showed horses, beginning at age 6.  It was through them all that I knew I just had to work with animals and help those who could not tell me where it hurts or what is wrong.  So, upon my graduation from high school, I enrolled in Harcum College, in Bryn Mawr, PA.  My studies included two internships, one at Matthew Ryan Veterinary Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and one at New Bolton Center in Kennett Square.  After a three-year program, I graduated with honors in May of 2009 with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology, and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in August of 2009.  I have been working at Animal Crackers Veterinary Clinic since September of 2010.  When not at work, I enjoy shopping, reading a good book, and spending time with my boyfriend, Paul, and our two wonderful dogs, Mercedes (Sadie), a German Shepherd, and Slamurai (Slammie), a Pekingese.
